Currently supported 3D file formats: .glb/.gltf, .fbx, .vtk, .obj, .stl, .dae, .ply, .3dm, .spline/.splinecode, .usdz/.usdc, .hdr, .exr
Supported features:
Theoretically, as long as the model can export animation, it supports default playback (multiple animation switching will be supported in the future).
.glb/.gltf, .fbx supports embedded texture rendering.
.glb/.gltf supports PBR materials and HDR (HDR scenes currently do not support replacement).
Instructions:
The main model format supported by the plug-in is .glb/.gltf, so the model support for .glb/.gltf is the best. If you want a better preview experience, you can convert the model to .glb/.gltf format.
The default perspective of the plug-in is -Y forward, Z upward. The generated thumbnail will also be generated at this angle, because there is no unified standard for model angles in different formats, so if the thumbnail is not an angle you are satisfied with, please adjust the exported model coordinate axis yourself.
Currently, for models with animation, only the first frame is taken when generating thumbnails (after the subsequent release of the multi-animation switching function, custom selection of the playback position as a thumbnail can be supported).
The time it takes to generate thumbnails is determined by the complexity of the model, texture size and graphics card performance. Therefore, if the model is more complex, the speed of generating thumbnails may be slower.
[Improvement] Improve the clarity of thumbnails
[New] Supports Rhino 3dm format (.3dm)
[Fixed] The embedded texture of the .fbx model does not render properly
[New] Supports USDC format (.usdc)
[Fixed] Some .obj models cannot be previewed
[New] Supports USDZ format (.usdz)
[New] Supports HDRI formats (.hdr, .exr)
[Improvement] The rendering effect of the material when the model map is missing
[Other] The plug-in was renamed "3D Format Extensions"
[New] Support for Spline format (.spline, .splinecode).
